The VALAC has elected not to pursue any legislation this Legislative Session.  Instead, it is focusing on fundraising and strengthening relationships with key interest groups and the members of the General Assembly.

     Major issues, including the contents of a resale disclosure to mortgage companies and the maximum allowable fee for a resale packet, are expected to be studied throughout the year and presented to the 2006 General Assembly.   The VALAC 2004 Legislative Agenda describes the issues presented with regard to resale fees.

     Unfortunately, VALAC’s normal legislative agenda represents but a fraction of the bills potentially impacting community associations that are historically considered each year by the General Assembly.   The VALAC expect a very busy year, even if it is only perceived as defending its territory.
